It has 4 knobs, 2 faders, a two-axis joystick, and 8 buttons. The device is 100% configurable and can change settings while the user is playing it. I call it a Meta-Instrument, because it holds 128 performance presets that can be activated by a simple MIDI patch change or program change signal.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=16256620">Komega's Etsy Store</a><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_WfpHKCCZBJY/R_BOriPDGOI/AAAAAAAAAAY/sfDeH6bPOik/s1600-h/kromatron_off_labelled.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_WfpHKCCZBJY/R_BOriPDGOI/AAAAAAAAAAY/sfDeH6bPOik/s400/kromatron_off_labelled.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5183729680934705378" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_WfpHKCCZBJY/R_BO6yPDGPI/AAAAAAAAAAg/IepL9tCuesI/s1600-h/kromatron_off_labelled2.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_WfpHKCCZBJY/R_BO6yPDGPI/AAAAAAAAAAg/IepL9tCuesI/s400/kromatron_off_labelled2.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5183729942927710450" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_WfpHKCCZBJY/R_BPeyPDGRI/AAAAAAAAAAw/b6l2BwDwdrw/s1600-h/kromatron_close.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_WfpHKCCZBJY/R_BPeyPDGRI/AAAAAAAAAAw/b6l2BwDwdrw/s400/kromatron_close.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5183730561403001106" border="0" /></a><br />photo credits: Kieth Hutter http://hutterimages.net<br /><br />One moment the user can be playing a piano sound, the next the user can be scheduling audio loops or controlling effects parameters. There is really no limit to what the user can set this device to do.<br /><br />This controller has built in LEDs that correspond to each input. In other words, if the user turns a knob, an associated LED gets brighter, or if the user pushes a button, the button lights up.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_WfpHKCCZBJY/R_BPEiPDGQI/AAAAAAAAAAo/Wz_qDOsXpUM/s1600-h/kromatron_on_labelled.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_WfpHKCCZBJY/R_BPEiPDGQI/AAAAAAAAAAo/Wz_qDOsXpUM/s400/kromatron_on_labelled.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5183730110431435010" border="0" /></a><br />photo credits: Kieth Hutter http://hutterimages.net<br /><br />The following video is the beginning of a performance played with the Kromatron at Whisper in San Francisco:<br /><br /><object height="355" width="425"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/zmCvnveIjQQ&hl=en"><param name="wmode" value="transparent"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/zmCvnveIjQQ&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" height="355" width="425"></embed></object><br /><br />The Kromatron at the CDM futuristic design challenge:<br /><object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/iBFdkzVUwps&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/iBFdkzVUwps&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object><br /><br /><object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/rjF9O07fMh4&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/rjF9O07fMh4&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object><br /><br />Here is a recording of a performance in Vancouver BC played with the Kromatron:<br /><br /><a href="http://komega.no-thing.net/gigtracks/komega_sequential_circus2_l.mp3">Komega Live in Vancouver BC</a>Komegahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02305912081434937085noreply@blogger.com0
